We’re well and truly into the winter months now, but there’s still plenty of time left to enjoy all the awesome events the season has to offer.
After our recent round-up of Melbourne winter events, we thought it was high time to find out what’s happening around Sydney. So here are x of the best winter events in Sydney for 2019!
Winterfest at Luna Park
July 5th–22nd
Everyone’s favourite Sydney theme park is set to come to life over two weeks in July, as Winterfest returns to Luna Park.
With a snowy ice-skating rink and an assortment of warming eats on offer, plus a Christmas in July visit from Santa Claus for the kids, Winterfest is a family-friendly outing that offers up some classic chilly-weather cheer.


Winterlight Parramatta
July 5th–21st
Venture out of the city in July for Parramatta’s Winterlight, anoher family-friendly festival celebrating all the season has to offer.
With warming food and drinks, art activations, a 30-metre ice slide and the largest open-air ice-skating rink in Sydney, there’s something for everyone in Prince Alfred Square this winter.
Carriageworks Winter Night Market
July 19th
Carriageworks is famous for the farmers market it hosts every Saturday – but it’s also home to a special annual night market.
Curated by James Viles, chef and founder of Biota Dining, this year’s market is based around the theme ‘Wild’, with over 50 of Sydney’s leading restaurants, bars and producers offering a unique menu for marketgoers.


Muriel’s Wedding The Musical
June 28th–August 11th
If you’re feeling too cold to venture outdoors, why not spend a few hours in the warmth of the Lyric Theatre, watching one of Australia’s favourite stories come to life on stage?
Running for a limited season this winter, Muriel’s Wedding The Musical is a cheeky, fun musical take on the iconic film.
